Lamborghini's first all-electric car will be launched before 2030, and it has previously announced that the production capacity for fuel vehicles has been sold out.
IT Home reported on March 28 that Stephan Winkelmann, chairman and CEO of Lamborghini, revealed that the brand will launch its first all-electric vehicle before 2030. Winkelmann stated that by 2030, the market is expected to be mature enough for ultra-luxury car brands to introduce fully electric models.
Winkelmann also revealed that the newly launched pure electric model will differ in body shape from Lamborghini's existing products. The new car is expected to be a GT model with a "2+2" layout. The introduction of the pure electric product will not affect the existing product line, but rather serve as a further complement to the brand.
Winkelmann stated in an interview with foreign media in May 2024 that the current market demand for fully electric supercars is low, and he believes "it is still too early to achieve full electrification."
Winkelmann pointed out that the performance of electric vehicles is no longer an issue, but certain emotional elements, such as the unique sound of the V10 engine in the Huracan model, cannot be replicated through electrification. He also mentioned that Lamborghini would be willing to adopt electronic fuels if relevant regulations were more favorable.
Lamborghini's electrification strategy is to gradually transition from hybrid to fully electric. As early as 2023, Lamborghini announced that its production capacity for fuel vehicles had been sold out.。Starting from 2024, Lamborghini will no longer produce pure internal combustion engine models.and plans to transition its entire product line to hybrid power before 2025.
