As part of the approval process, KED-Seals had to demonstrate that the products meet high standards for manufacturing technology and acceptance testing. This enables us to support our customers in obtaining NORSOK approval for their assemblies. NORSOK standards were developed by the Norwegian petroleum industry to provide reasonable assurance and also cost efficiency in the development and operation of equipment for its own economic factor, and thus to serve as reference standards for government regulations. In accordance with Appendix C, the tests allow predictions to be made about the behavior of the polymeric materials and the service life of the seal in demanding oil demand applications. Ideally, the materials should exceed the high product life of an oil and gas system of 30 years. These standards are extremely stringent and recognized worldwide. he NORSOK M-710 standard defines the requirements for critical non-metallic (polymeric) sealing materials for continuous use underwater and on valves in surface applications in critical gas systems. Likewise, the M-710 standard includes RGD testing (ED testing / Explosive Decompression) and testing of the effects of sour gas (H2S) with respect to the aging behavior of polymers.
