1.05 billion! kumho dayli 100,000 tons of modified plastics land in the yangtze river delta region!
According to a release by the Jin’an Economic Development Zone, on May 27, Anhui Kumho Sunny New Materials Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony in the Lu’an Jin’an Economic Development Zone for its R&D and production project with an annual output of 100,000 tons of modified plastics (40 million products).
Liu Meisheng, Deputy Secretary of the Jin’an District Committee of Lu’an City and District Mayor, announced the commencement of the project. Yang Jun, Secretary of the Party Working Committee and Director of the Administrative Committee of Jin’an Economic Development Zone, Xin Minqi, Chairman and CEO of Shanghai Kingfa Sci. & Tech. Co., Ltd., and others attended the ceremony and jointly laid the foundation stone.
This is the fourth production base established by Kumho Tire after Shanghai Jinshan, Foshan in Guangdong, and Rayong in Thailand, and it is currently the largest single factory in scale, marking further improvement in the national production capacity strategic layout.

It is understood that the project involves a total investment of approximately RMB 1.05–1.15 billion, including RMB 550 million in fixed-asset investment. Covering a planned land area of 155 mu, the project will be developed in two phases. It will fully introduce intelligent, green, and low-carbon production lines to build a benchmark digital factory for the industry, with a focus on three core sectors: new energy vehicles, high-end home appliances, and electronic materials. Its main products will be high-value-added modified materials such as PC/ABS and ABS.
After the first phase of the project is put into operation, the annual operating income is expected to be no less than 900 million yuan, with annual tax contributions no less than 20 million yuan; once the project reaches full capacity, the annual operating income will exceed 1.6 billion yuan, with annual tax contributions no less than 35 million yuan, at which point the total production capacity of Jinhua Rili will exceed 400,000 tons per year.

In his speech, Yang Jun stated that the Anhui Kingfa Sci. & Tech. project is a key high-end modified plastics project in western Anhui. Upon completion, it will closely connect with 16 local injection molding manufacturers in Jin’an, creating an integrated industrial cluster spanning “new material R&D, production, and supporting processing.” This will effectively reduce regional industrial chain support costs and further improve the core industrial chain layout for new energy vehicles and home appliances in Lu’an. Relying on the cross-regional Shanghai-Anhui coordination mechanism of “shared fiscal and tax revenues, separately accounted statistics,” the Jin’an Economic Development Zone will provide considerate and efficient services throughout the project’s construction process, making every effort to ensure early completion, early production, and early results.
Xin Minqi emphasized that the Lu’an plant is not merely a simple expansion of production capacity, but a comprehensive upgrade of technology and manufacturing models. Kumho Sunny will build the base to high standards, strive to put it into operation as soon as possible, actively create local employment, coordinate the development of upstream and downstream industries, help upgrade Lu’an’s new materials industry, and achieve mutual benefit and win-win development between the company and the local community. This strategic layout will further consolidate Kumho Sunny’s leading position in the modified plastics segment and provide more efficient and green supply chain support for the East China and central-western China markets.
Steady growth in performance, highlighting technological advantages.
As a leading enterprise in the domestic modified plastics industry, Jinhu Rili has been deeply engaged in the sector for 25 years. Currently, it has an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons and annual sales exceeding 3 billion yuan. It is a strategic partner of leading companies such as Shanghai Volkswagen, BYD, Tesla, Gree, and Haier. Public industry data shows that the company's output value has steadily increased from 1.71 billion yuan in 2022, and in 2025, it successfully received the title of Advanced Intelligent Factory in Shanghai. Its automated production workshop has achieved a closed-loop operation process from raw material delivery, precise measurement, mixing and extrusion to packaging and palletizing, significantly enhancing production efficiency and product quality.
In niche market segments, Kumho Sunny’s technological advantages are particularly prominent. According to the 2026 industry report, in the ASA copolymer market, the consortium of Kumho Sunny and Kumho Polychem China ranked first in the industry with a 38.6% market share. Its core strength lies in its integrated capabilities spanning ASA resin synthesis, graft modification, and end-application development. Its products have achieved deep penetration in high-value-added applications such as automotive exterior parts and mid-to-high-end home appliance panels. In 2025, the average selling price of its general-grade ASA products was 11.7% higher than the industry average, demonstrating strong technological premium capability and customer stickiness.
Globalization and Technological Innovation as Dual Drivers
On December 23, 2025, the company officially signed a contract with the Jin'an Economic Development Zone, finalizing the Anhui Lu'an base project with a total investment of over 1 billion yuan. Previously, its first overseas location—the production base in Rayong, Thailand—officially commenced operations in June 2025, with an initial capacity of 20,000 tons per year. A research and development team and a coating-free color matching technology team were deployed simultaneously, adopting a localized management model to closely align with the trend of the Southeast Asian home appliance and consumer electronics industry chain transfer, becoming an important hub for serving customers in Southeast Asia.
From January to April 2026, the company successively disclosed four invention patents, including three proprietary patents involving a polycarbonate composition resistant to needle-flame burn-through, a chemical-resistant PC material, and an ultra-high weather-resistant, wear-resistant, high-gloss ASA resin. In addition, one patent jointly filed with Hisense Visual Technology for an anti-warping, metal-free spray-coated PC/ABS alloy further enriched its portfolio of high-value-added products. Meanwhile, Guangdong Jinhu Lili obtained administrative approval in January 2026 for the construction project of a laboratory, an intelligent logistics warehouse, and a comprehensive office building, which will further enhance its R&D capabilities and logistics efficiency.

Industry insiders analyze that with the rapid development of downstream industries such as new energy vehicles and high-end home appliances, the demand for high-end modified plastics continues to grow. Jinhwa Dayli's establishment of a base in Lu'an, Anhui, not only effectively addresses the regional shortfall in high-end new material production capacity but also leverages the geographical advantages of the Yangtze River Delta to further radiate to the East China and central-western markets, injecting new momentum into its future development.
