Audi Recalls Nearly 20,000 E-Tron Electric SUVs in US: Brake Pedal May Detach
IT Home reported on April 27th, according to foreign media insideevs tonight, Audi will recall 18,853 e-tron electric SUVs in the United States. The reason for the recall is quite serious: the brake pedal.May become disconnected from the brake booster., resulting in the vehicle's service brakes not functioning properly.
The document issued by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration does not require vehicle owners to “prohibit driving.” The document’s recommendation is that drivers…If you find that pressing the brake pedal produces no response, use the emergency brake to stop the vehicle.。
According to IT Home, this recall involves14,102 units of the 2019–2024 model year e-tron, as well as 4,751 units of the 2020 to 2025 e-tron Sportback. The e-tron was renamed to Q8 e-tron several years ago and is no longer on sale.

According to the recall report, the source of the fault is aScrews not tightened to the correct torqueThis bolt connects the brake pedal input rod to the brake booster actuator rod. Once the connection becomes loose, the brake pedal may lose its function.
The issue stems from German component supplier Aumovio, due to a malfunction in the factory production process. Audi stated that vehicle owners may hear abnormal noise or notice that the brake pedal fails to return to its original position. In such cases, drivers can only rely on the emergency brake to stop the vehicle. If an actual emergency braking scenario occurs at that moment, the situation would clearly be extremely unsettling.
The solution is relatively straightforward. Audi dealers will inspect the brake booster on potentially affected vehicles and replace it according to the manufacturer’s specifications.Tighten the screws againThis repair does not require replacing parts, and the driver will not be charged any fees.
Although the Q8 e-tron has been discontinued, recalls, customer complaints, and manufacturer service communications surrounding the vehicle continue to increase. In the United States, the car has been involved in at least 14 recalls, and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has registered hundreds of customer complaints and thousands of service bulletins.
