Closer to End Markets to Reduce Supply Chain Risk! Medline Builds New Medical Plastics Plant in Slovakia
Recently, Medline International B.V. (a subsidiary of Medline Inc.) is advancing a strategic capacity expansion at its facility in Partizánske, Slovakia, to strengthen the supply chain resilience and operational excellence of this surgical medical products supplier in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
The new factory is located adjacent to the existing Medline facility and is currently under construction. Once operational, it will significantly enhance overall manufacturing capacity to support future business growth in the European medical market. The project is progressing smoothly and is scheduled to officially start production in 2027.

Medical-grade plastic production
Medline Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of medical supplies. The group's dedicated division, Dynacor Plastics, is responsible for the production of medical plastic products, with production facilities located in Mundelein, Illinois, and Laredo, Texas.
The Slovakia expansion project will add a brand new cleanroom, upgrade the entire operational process, and enhance operational efficiency, production flexibility, and supply stability to meet the needs of medical institutions in the region. This investment reflects Medline's strategy of producing close to end customers, reducing supply chain risks while adhering to quality standards.
Hervé Million, President of Medline for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, said: “This expansion is a critically important strategic investment in our European manufacturing network, enabling us to provide customers with high-quality, consistent and reliable product solutions closer to where they are needed, aligned with their real-world usage requirements. The project also reflects our confidence in the industry’s future, our pursuit of operational excellence, and our responsibility to support the development of our employees and local communities.”
The expansion project in Slovakia will gradually create more jobs, further strengthening Medline’s position as a major employer in the medical manufacturing industry in Slovakia. The new facility will be capable of producing the Group’s full product portfolio, serving hospitals, nursing homes, and healthcare professionals across the EMEA region.
Localized Supply Chain Layout
As the healthcare industry’s demand for highly resilient localized supply chains continues to rise, Medline’s investment plan to expand local manufacturing capacity in Europe aligns with broader industry trends. Leveraging its global scale and deep experience in regional markets, the company helps healthcare institutions improve clinical services, financial costs, and overall operational performance.
Group Chief Commercial Officer Doug Golwas said, “The results we have achieved over the years are clear and evident. We have remained deeply committed to serving healthcare institutions across all care settings, building a comprehensive and well-rounded product portfolio, and creating an industry-leading supply chain with exceptional resilience and stability. Healthcare professionals work tirelessly every moment to provide high-quality care to patients, and Medline is always there to support them.”
Medline was founded in 1966 and distributes approximately 335,000 healthcare products, of which around 190,000 are private label products and about 70,000 are self-manufactured categories. The group is headquartered in the United States, has over 45,000 employees worldwide, and operates in more than 100 countries and regions, providing surgical medical products and integrated supply chain solutions for all clinical settings.
