Rainfall and Light Sensorhas become standard on many automobiles. ARBURG successfully met this challenge with a tailor-made turnkey system production line.
Manufactured by the German company Friedrichs & Rath.Rainfall/Light SensorThe housing is used for vehicle models from well-known manufacturers. The basic functions of the sensor include:
-
Automatically turns on or off in low light.
-
Automatically activate the windshield wipers when it rains.
Three-layer structure design
This highly challengingThree-component partComposed of a base and a protective cover:
-
A highly transparent optical component.
-
An infrared transmissive component
-
A black outer shell

Optimal overall solution
1. Multi-component 4+4+4-cavity high-precision mold,
Complete the injection molding in three steps to achieve the integration of three materials in a single molding process.
-
First, form the highly transparent component and the infrared component (the materials are Makrolon 264 and Lexan 123 R, respectively).
-
Subsequently, the mold is rotated 180° on the turntable.
-
Finally, injection mold the black housing component (material: Makrolon 2405).
2. Efficient Automation
-
MULTILIFT V20 robotic system removal
-
Conveyed to the automated visual inspection station, with no manual intervention required throughout the entire process.
100% quality inspection
Each part undergoes comprehensive inspection of multiple optical features at the testing station to ensure zero defects before being automatically packaged into customized blister packaging as per customer requirements.
Working hand in hand for decades
ARBURG injection molding machines have become the absolute mainstay of Friedrichs & Rath’s production system, with advantages reflected in four dimensions:
1. Equipped with 27 ALLROUNDER injection molding machines.(including vertical models), most of which are integrated with MULTILIFT robotic systems, enabling highly automated production with both high capacity and stability.
2. The device is equipped with a wide range of advanced features.OPC-UA interface (for the hot runner and temperature control unit), core pulling, valve gate nozzle, air blowing, hot runner controller, in-cavity pressure monitoring system, and a variety of intelligent auxiliary software packages, covering the entire process from injection molding to quality control.
3. Efficient Service Response Company:I particularly appreciate ARBURG's quick response in providing professional support at the first opportunity, minimizing downtime losses to the greatest extent.
4. Digital and Convenient Management:Spare parts management through "arburgXworld" further improves equipment operation and maintenance efficiency.
