Shanghai Chlor-Alkali Chemical Co., Ltd. (referred to as Chlor-Alkali Company) was established in July 1992, transforming from Shanghai Chlor-Alkali General Factory. The main production bases are located in Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone in southern Shanghai and Qinzhou Port Petrochemical Industry Park in Guangxi Free Trade Zone, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, covering a total area of approximately 238 hectares. The company organizes production operations according to international standards and has implemented and passed ISO9001 Quality Management System, ISO14001 Environmental Management System, and OHSMS Occupational Health and Safety Management System certifications. Additionally, the company has obtained GB/T2331-2020, ISO50001:2018, RB/T113-2014, and RB/T114-2014 energy system certifications. The company's main products, including caustic soda series and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) series, have received accolades such as "Shanghai Brand Product" and "China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Renowned Brand." The company was awarded the Green Factory Demonstration Award by MIIT in 2021 and has been listed as a four-star green factory and green design product by the Shanghai Economic and Information Commission, as well as recognized for its smart factory and green design products by the China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association. The National Technical Center is the primary department responsible for technological innovation, developing new products and new process technologies. To date, the company has filed 201 patent applications and currently holds 43 valid patents, including 38 invention patents, with 66 technical secrets. Nine scientific and technological achievements have won second and third prizes for scientific and technological progress in Shanghai. The company primarily manufactures and sells caustic soda, chlorine, and chlorine-related products (hydrochloric acid, sodium hypochlorite), as well as PVC resin products. Its current annual production capacity includes 1.02 million tons of caustic soda, 870,000 tons of liquid chlorine, 1.36 million tons of dichloroethane, 480,000 tons of PVC resin, and 600,000 tons of vinyl chloride. In Shanghai, the company boasts excellent logistics facilities and conditions, with two dedicated bulk and hazardous material wharves capable of handling up to 5 million tons annually. In Qinzhou, Guangxi, Huayi Group and Dutch Vopak jointly constructed three 50,000-ton chemical berths along with corresponding port facilities, with an annual design throughput of about 7 million tons.
