Zhangjiagang Metgo Polymer Materials Co., Ltd. has been dedicated to the production and sales of thermoplastic rubber and halogen-free flame-retardant thermoplastic elastomers for 20 years. Currently, its market share in TPV ranks among the top 3 in China, mainly focusing on TPVs vulcanized with phenolic resins and peroxides, with functional grades including flame retardancy, UV resistance, high flowability, low friction, and overmolding. The company's halogen-free flame-retardant TPE materials have served BYD new energy vehicles for 13 years, featuring high strength, crack resistance, and no die head accumulation during extrusion. In 2017, the company invested 60 million RMB to introduce a complete set of imported TPV equipment (WP twin-screw, BKG underwater pelletizer, Brabender loss-in-weight feeder, German Pallmann crusher) and supporting testing facilities. In the second half of 2020, it moved into a new factory, where it will possess 6 TPV production lines, 4 TPV pre-mixing lines (one being a Banbury mixer line), 1 TPV reactive masterbatch line, 3 halogen-free flame-retardant TPE lines, 3 high-end TPE lines, 2 TPE pilot lines, and 1 TPV pilot line, totaling 20 production lines, with 12 of them equipped with underwater pelletizing systems. It is expected that by 2023, Metgo's annual production capacity for TPV/TPE will reach 12,000 tons. Meanwhile, Metgo Polymer has embarked on deep cooperation with Professor Jianming Zhang's team from Qingdao University of Science and Technology, covering the development of butyl rubber TPV and biodegradable TPV. It is anticipated that these products will be commercially mass-produced within the next 3 years.
