$2 Billion Total Investment: Chongqing Polylactic Acid (PLA) Products Project Commences
On November 26th, Chongqing held the commencement and commissioning ceremony for the third batch of major projects in 2025. A total of 177 major projects were initiated and commissioned, with a total investment of approximately 185.1 billion yuan. Among them, 106 projects were initiated, with a total investment of approximately 112.1 billion yuan, and 71 projects were commissioned, with a total investment of approximately 73 billion yuan. These projects span various fields, including modern industry, infrastructure, social welfare, and ecological environmental protection.

Jiangjin District is participating in 29 projects that have commenced construction or started production, with a total investment of 21 billion yuan. Among them, the Jiangjin Xieteng Technology new factory building project has also been announced to start construction.

The total area covers 153 acres, with a planned total investment of 2 billion yuan. The first phase intends to use 70 acres of industrial land, investing 400 million yuan to mainly produce 15,000 tons of polylactic acid degradable modified plastic products. The plan includes the construction of an annual production of 5,000 tons of polylactic acid degradable lunch boxes, 5,000 tons of polylactic acid degradable plastic bags, 3,000 tons of agricultural mulch polylactic acid degradable modified plastics, and 2,000 tons of underwear textile polylactic acid degradable modified plastics. Once the project reaches its production capacity, it is expected to achieve an output value of over 450 million yuan.
