Another Million-Ton Ethylene Project Starts Production!
According to Antara News Agency of Indonesia, on November 6, a completion ceremony was held for the newly constructed Cilegon petrochemical plant by Lotte Chemical Indonesia.

According to reports, this $3.9 billion factory is Indonesia's largest modern petrochemical production base, producing 15 types of petrochemical products. It is expected to reduce Indonesia's dependence on imported petrochemical raw materials and significantly promote the development of downstream industries.
The designed production capacity of the project is 1 million tons/year of ethylene, 520,000 tons/year of propylene, 140,000 tons/year of butadiene, 350,000 tons/year of polypropylene, and 400,000 tons/year of BTX (benzene/toluene/xylene).
This is also the first new naphtha cracking unit built in Indonesia in 30 years.
