On Earth Day, Covestro and 90FUN, a brand under Runmi Technology, jointly held the global launch event titled “Travel Light, Travel Green” at CHINAPLAS 2026, officially unveiling their co-developed new eco-friendly luggage series—the 90FUN R-GO Coffee Collection. This new series features shells made from polycarbonate containing 90% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content and is now available globally.

The outer shell of this travel suitcase is made from Makrolon® R90, a high-quality recycled polycarbonate (PCR) containing up to 90% recycled content derived from discarded 19-liter polycarbonate water containers. Since 2020, Covestro, together with its partners, has been recycling approximately one million such containers annually, transforming them into premium PCR polycarbonate for use in consumer goods, electronics, and home appliance industries.

A 20-inch coffee crate has a carbon footprint for the box shell that is more than 67% lower than the previous generation, providing a practical solution for efficient recycling.

In terms of performance, the recycled material maintains stable impact resistance at both normal temperature and extreme low temperature of -20 degrees Celsius. Additionally, the material has excellent color compatibility. The newly launched products come in three color options: Australian White, American, and Latte, reflecting the material's natural texture.

Covestro and Runmi Technology's 90fen brand first collaborated in 2021 to launch products containing PCR polycarbonate material.Limited Edition Travel SuitcaseThis global launch of the new generation coffee box is the result of the two parties' long-term cooperation, and also reflects the gradual scaling of sustainable materials in the consumer goods industry.

In recent years, environmental protection access requirements for consumer goods in international markets such as Europe and the United States have continuously tightened. For example, the progressive implementation of regulations restricting per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) has imposed higher requirements on Chinese brands entering these markets. The PCR polycarbonate used in the 90 Points coffee box contains no intentionally added PFAS and complies with the draft EU PFAS restriction regulation. Moreover, combined with stringent incoming-material controls and standardized production processes, this material delivers outstanding properties and stable performance comparable to virgin material, and has obtained third-party post-consumer recycling certification.

Covestro's PCR polycarbonate, with its excellent color adaptability, is redefining high-end travel aesthetics with a sustainable concept.
