Elix Abs Hh 3110 Material Obtains RecyClass European Plastic Recycling Certification
Recently, ELIX Polymers, a subsidiary of Sinochem International's engineering plastics division, announced that its ELIX ABS HH 3110 product has become the first ABS resin to receive technical certification from RecyClass, the European plastics recycling certification organization. It has been designated as the control material for ABS recyclability testing. This achievement can effectively ensure that RecyClass provides clear plastic recyclability recommendations for specific industries.
Professional institutions conducted comprehensive testing on the ELIX ABS HH 3110 product based on the "Assessment Protocol for the Recyclability of Resins in Automotive and Electrical and Electronic Equipment" and determined that the material is fully compatible with the ABS recycling system for automotive and electrical and electronic devices.
ELIX ABS HH 3110 resin is modified from a styrene-maleimide copolymer, offering excellent heat resistance. It is suitable for automotive exterior parts (such as tail light housings and spoilers) and interior components (such as center console trim, door assemblies, and dashboard parts), as well as in the electronic and electrical fields for sockets and switches.
Based on its excellent performance in testing, this material has been incorporated as a control material for the RecyClass ABS plastic parts recyclability assessment. This is a key step in establishing a reliable and tested benchmark for the recyclability assessment of ABS materials, helping stakeholders in the automotive and electrical/electronic equipment industries make informed decisions regarding material selection and recycling compatibility, thereby accelerating the development of a circular economy.
In the future, Sinochem International, together with ELIX, will continue to deepen innovation breakthroughs in materials, creating more material options with both excellent performance and environmental value, and leading the engineering plastics industry to accelerate its transformation towards a green future of circular economy.
