1. Free from PFAS processing aidsBYK-MAX P 4109、BYK-MAX P 4110
In the processing of polyolefins, melt fracture and die drooling can often occur due to high shear forces, temperature, and friction. To avoid these issues and improve production efficiency and product quality, fluorine-based processing aids are commonly used. However, due to legal restrictions on the use of PFAS internationally, BYK has rapidly developed PFAS-free processing aids (PPA), which are not only environmentally friendly but also enhance production efficiency and improve the quality of the final product.
The two new processing aids, BYK-MAX P 4109 and BYK-MAX P 4110, perfectly meet the above requirements: they are not only PFAS-free but also significantly improve production efficiency, effectively prevent melt fracture, and reduce die drool. These aids can significantly shorten the purge time and support quick product changes.
Melt fracture test
BYK-MAX P 4109 and BYK-MAX P 4110 prevent melt fracture more effectively than conventional fluorinated processing aids or non-fluorinated market products.

Fluorine-free processing aids show the same effectiveness as fluorine-containing processing aids in reducing sharkskin phenomenon in blown film.
2. Biodegradable additives SCONA TPPL series
SCONA TPPL biodegradable plastic additive series is a high-performance polymer modifier based on polylactic acid (PLA), fully meeting the highest standards for sustainable additives derived from renewable resources, and significantly enhancing the mechanical and processing properties of thermoplastics.
Recycled PP battery casingRECYCLOBYK 4371
RECYCLOBYK 4371 is specifically designed to re-stabilize polypropylene or polyolefin composites that have been degraded by corrosive substances.
We subjected the samples to accelerated thermal aging tests at either 135 °C or 155 °C and measured their embrittlement time. Without any additives, the accelerated thermal aging lifetime of the unstabilized samples was less than 250 hours—far too short for new batteries intended for multi-year service. However, adding 0.2–1.0 % RECYCLOBYK 4371 extended the thermal aging lifetime to over 2000 hours, representing an improvement of more than 80 % in service life and significantly exceeding the requirement for standard stabilizers (1250 hours).
Polymer modifier without maleic anhydride
SCONA TSPP 8219 GA
SCONA TSPP 8219 GA is a new type of functional polymer, mainly used in polyolefin filled systems. EU regulations stipulate that when the material contains >=10 ppm of residual maleic anhydride, the manufacturer must provide a "warning label."
SCONA TSPP 8219 GA meets regulatory requirements, does not contain "maleic anhydride", and provides better performance to the material system.
