Issues to Note Before Restarting an Injection Molding Machine After a Long Downtime
1. Turn on the main power switch of the machine tool and check for any leakage of electricity. Preheat the barrel and mold according to the set process temperature requirements. Once the barrel temperature reaches the process temperature, maintain the temperature for more than 20 minutes to ensure uniform temperature across all parts of the barrel.
2. Open the oil cooler water valve to cool the return oil and water pipes. Start the oil pump momentarily, and if no abnormal phenomena are observed, proceed to officially start the oil pump. Wait until the screen displays "Motor On" before operating. Pay attention to motor reversal and check whether the safety gate functions normally.
Operators must use safety doors; if the safety door travel switch is malfunctioning, the machine must not be started, and it is strictly prohibited to operate without using the safety door (cover).
The various covers and protective shields of the electrical, hydraulic, and rotating parts of the operating equipment must be properly covered and secured.
6. Non-duty operators are not allowed to press any buttons or handles without permission, and no more than one person is allowed to operate the same injection molding machine at the same time.

When placing molds and inserts, they must be stable, accurate, and reliable. If any abnormalities are found during the molding process, stop immediately and notify technical personnel to troubleshoot the issue.
8. When repairing the machine or cleaning the mold for an extended period (more than 10 minutes), be sure to retract the injection seat to ensure the nozzle is away from the mold, turn off the motor, and operators are not allowed to leave their posts while maintenance personnel are working on the machine.
When someone is handling a machine or mold, no one is allowed to start the motor.
When entering the machine tool or mold opening, the power must be cut off.
11. Avoid striking the fixed mold with the injection seat when the mold is open to prevent the fixed mold from falling off.
12. For air injection, each attempt should not exceed 5 seconds, and if two consecutive injections fail, notify nearby personnel to avoid the danger zone. When cleaning the nozzle rubber head, do not use your hands directly; instead, use pliers or other tools to prevent burns.
During operation, the melt barrel is subject to high temperature, high pressure, and high voltage. It is prohibited to step on, climb, or place objects on the melt barrel to prevent burns, electric shocks, and fires.
14. In the event that the hopper does not discharge material, do not use metal rods or sticks to forcibly poke the hopper to avoid damaging the internal screens, screen guards, and magnet frame. If done while the screw is rotating, it is highly likely that the metal rod will be drawn into the barrel, causing severe equipment damage.
If abnormal noises, odors, sparks, oil leaks, or other unusual conditions are detected during the operation of the injection molding machine, the machine should be stopped immediately. Report the issue to the relevant personnel and describe the fault phenomenon and possible causes.
