Multiple Locations Expand Production! 61,000 Tons Of PHA Under Construction And Planned By June 2026
As of June 2026, four domestic enterprises have a combined PHA production capacity of 61,000 tons under construction or planned, with projects distributed across various locations and differing construction progress. Hubei Weiqi Biotechnology Co., Ltd. has a 30,000-ton capacity project currently under construction, making it the largest incremental project in this statistics, located in Yichang, Hubei. Beijing Microstructure Biotech Co., Ltd. plans to build a capacity of 20,000 tons, with the base set in Shunyi, Beijing. Ningbo Tianan Biomaterials Co., Ltd. has a planned project of 10,000 tons, located in Ningbo, Zhejiang. COFCO Biochemical Energy (Yushu) Co., Ltd. plans a capacity of 1,000 tons, situated in Yushu City, Changchun, Jilin. Overall, at this stage, the proportion of planned capacity is higher, and as the construction projects are completed and planned projects are put into production, the domestic PHA supply capacity will be significantly enhanced.
