Puma Partners with Suzhou-Based Material Company Sensai to Co-Develop Sustainable Running Shoe Foaming Technology
Recently, German sportswear brand PUMA announced a cooperation agreement with Suzhou Sensai, a new materials R&D company based in China, to jointly develop PUMA's next-generation NITRO™ high-performance running shoe technology.
Puma will jointly establish a specialized laboratory with Shensai in Suzhou, China, for the testing of new materials, and will launch the first batch of products resulting from this collaboration in the coming quarters.

Suzhou Sensai New Materials specializes in sustainable, purely physical foaming technology. This technology expands plastics by capturing numerous micro- and nano-scale bubbles within the material, utilizing common gases from Earth's atmosphere.
PUMA first launched its NITRO™ technology in early 2021 as a key component of a comprehensive strategic upgrade for its high-performance running shoe line, and has since continuously optimized the technology. NITRO™ material features ultra-lightweight construction and high energy return, helping runners reduce energy consumption and achieve a comfortable running experience.
Recently, over 250 athletes tested PUMA running shoes equipped with NITRO™ technology at major international marathons in Boston, London, and New York. Among them, nearly 100 achieved new personal bests, and 48 improved their previous records by more than three minutes.
Beyond the high-performance running shoe category, NITRO™ technology is now widely used across PUMA's training, football, basketball, and golf product lines.
