Shandong Government Report Praises Dawn for Breaking Foreign Technology Monopoly in High-End Tire Barrier Materials

On January 27, at the opening ceremony of the Fourth Session of the 14th People's Congress of Shandong Province, Zhou Naixiang, Governor of Shandong Province, mentioned Dawn's latest technological innovation achievements in his government work report. It is reported that this is the first time Dawn Polymer has been included in the provincial government work report, demonstrating the company's development strength and scientific and technological innovation capabilities.

On January 25, Shandong TV broadcasted the grand event of the "Shandong Good Achievements, New Technological Momentum" theme release activity, where Tian Hongchi, General Manager of Dawn, received the award and gave a speech on-site. On January 26, "Dazhong Daily" dedicated a full page to the story of Dawn's DVA material research and development and application, under the theme "Winning, Beyond the Laboratory," examining "the ecological advantages of Chinese innovation from the breakthrough in tire barrier materials."

Innovation is the primary driving force for development. The report states that innovation-driven development continues to strengthen, with high-end tire barrier materials breaking foreign technological monopolies. Dawn Polymer, in collaboration with Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Linglong Tire, and other institutions, has made breakthroughs in key technologies such as cross-linked dynamic vulcanization and DVA film/composite film preparation. After more than 10 years of independent research and development, they have broken foreign technological monopolies and promoted their application in various specifications of tires in downstream enterprises such as Linglong Tire, becoming the second enterprise globally to achieve mass production of DVA materials.

The "slimming" black technology for tires has attracted widespread attention from all sectors of society. Dawn DVA material boasts an airtightness 7-10 times greater than traditional vulcanized butyl rubber, simultaneously improving tire pressure retention and pressure durability by 50%. The airtight layer's thickness and weight are reduced by 60%, resulting in a weight reduction of approximately 1 kilogram per tire. This addresses the urgent need for fuel savings in gasoline vehicles and extended range in new energy vehicles, marking a significant achievement in bringing China's high-end tire barrier materials to an internationally leading level.

As a deputy to the Shandong Provincial People's Congress for three consecutive terms, Chairman Yu Xiaoning put forward suggestions on the systematic treatment and efficient innovative utilization of historical mining subsidence areas, as well as optimizing the layout and management of chemical projects to implement precise risk classification and control, based on the development of Dawn Group and the Longkou (Dawn) New Material Science and Technology Industrial Park and with a focus on the entire province. "The provincial government work report's recognition of DVA materials is a tremendous encouragement and motivation for everyone at Dawn," he stated. He expressed that the group will earnestly implement the deployments and requirements of the report, leverage Dawn Group's four major advantages in scientific research, industry, industrial parks, and talent, and aim at global technological frontiers, national strategic needs, and social livelihood requirements to create more world-class green, low-carbon, and high-end new materials.
