Soprema, A Specialist Manufacturer of Sealing Membranes, Opens New Factory in Germany

With the completion of testing and certification processes and the successful rollout of the first batch of products, the French roofing and waterproofing membrane specialist Soprema officially inaugurated a plant for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and flexible polyolefin (FPO) roofing and waterproofing membranes in Hof/Oberroßbach, Germany, in September.

The company stated that starting in the spring of 2026, the new factory will supply the full range of plastic film products in its portfolio, as well as produce PIR insulation materials, liquid plastics, and asphalt waterproof membranes.

Soprema is investing 30 million euros in the construction of a new plant, with up to 50% of its electricity needs to be met by its own photovoltaic and wind power generation systems. However, the construction work has been delayed—the company announced the plant construction plan in 2021, and it was originally scheduled to start new production capacity in the first half of 2024.
