Strong Alliance! SSOCO Aids Vertical Aviation in Accelerating VX4 Electric Aircraft Production Process

Plastmatch Global Digest 2025-12-09 14:15:26

Vertical Aerospace has announced a long-term supplier partnership with Syensqo, with both parties working together to integrate advanced materials for the VX4 electric aircraft. This model is expected to achieve airworthiness certification by 2028, followed by its official entry into commercial operation.

This collaboration deepens the results of years of joint research and development between the two companies. As a leading enterprise in the field of electric aviation, Vertical Aerospace has joined forces with the advanced composite materials and adhesive manufacturer Hexcel to enhance the lightweight strength, structural efficiency, and durability of the VX4 aircraft. According to both parties, the aforementioned materials have already been applied in Vertical Aerospace's prototype projects and will eventually cover the entire aircraft structure to meet the stringent demands of high-frequency flight operations for electric vertical take-off and landing vehicles.

With the gradual full-scale commercial production of the vertical model, the airframe of the VX4 will be manufactured by leading aerospace structure supplier Aciturri.

Syensqo's expertise supports Vertical's certification and production goals.

Syensqo, with decades of experience in aerospace, supplies advanced materials to the world's leading aircraft manufacturers and defense companies. This expertise makes Syensqo the ideal partner for Vertical Aerospace as it advances its VX4 platform towards civilian and defense applications.

Vertical Aerospace CEO Stuart Simpson emphasized the importance of this collaboration.

He said, "Their expertise in lightweight, high-performance composite materials accumulated over decades, combined with our shared commitment to safety and certification, will help us deliver a resilient and flexible aircraft as we move towards commercial operations."

Rodrigo Elizondo, the president of Syensqo Composite Materials, expressed pride in this collaboration.

He said, "Our advanced composite materials and bonding technology are designed to push the boundaries of lightweight and performance, supporting VX4 on its path to safer, cleaner, and more efficient air mobility." "As Vertical enters the certification and industrialization phase, we look forward to supporting VX4's successful entry into full production with our scientific expertise and strong customer collaboration."

This collaboration expansion comes as Vertical is formalizing its core supply chain for certification, working together with global partners such as Honeywell and Aciturri.

Vertical Aerospace prepares for the launch of VX4.

Vertical Aerospace announced plans to unveil its new aircraft design in London on December 10. The event will showcase the VX4's industry-leading design, passenger and luggage capacity, and certification architecture.

The VX4 is a four-passenger electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft with zero operational emissions. Vertical Flight is also developing a hybrid electric variant to meet the evolving needs of the advanced air mobility market.

According to the vertical space company, there are currently about 1,500 booking orders from clients across four continents, including American Airlines, Japan Airlines, GOL, and Bristol.
