In November, Swiss construction chemicals giant Sika officially announced the acquisition of Gulf Seal (Awazil Al Khaleej Industrial Co.), a leading manufacturer of asphalt waterproofing membranes in Saudi Arabia. This deal is interpreted by the industry as a landmark move for multinational corporations to seize opportunities in high-growth emerging markets. As a local leader in waterproofing with over twenty years of experience in Riyadh, Gulf Seal boasts a production line for asphalt membranes covering more than 100 products. For Sika, this acquisition is not merely an asset expansion but a strategic entry point into the Middle East's infrastructure boom.

Christoph Ganz, the manager of Sika for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, stated: "By acquiring Gulf Seal, we have taken an important step in expanding our waterproofing product line and strengthening our influence in one of the world's most dynamic construction markets. Gulf Seal's solid market position and local production capabilities, combined with Sika's extensive product portfolio and global expertise, will bring exciting growth opportunities to the Gulf Cooperation Council region. We look forward to welcoming the Gulf Seal team to the Sika family."

Sika has been deeply engaged in the waterproofing field for nearly twenty years, continuing to build global barriers through capital integration. As a multinational giant that started with waterproofing, Sika has now formed a comprehensive construction solution system covering eight major business segments, including waterproofing, concrete, roofing, and sealing and bonding.
