Plastmatch Global Digest 2025-11-20 13:48:03

Recently, GVÖ, KBS, and RIGK jointly established Packliance GmbH. The three organizations will integrate their experience in the implementation of Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR). This new company will provide practical advice to EU companies, guiding them to comply with the requirements of the EU Packaging Regulation (PPWR). The company is headquartered in Wiesbaden, Germany.

The newly established service-oriented company will provide support to producers and manufacturers across the EU, helping them to implement the requirements of the EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) in a compliant and pragmatic manner. Packliance adheres to clear, pragmatic solution-oriented approaches, assisting clients in understanding, organizing, and executing complex regulatory requirements, fulfilling its core mission: "Rules multiply. We simplify." "By establishing Packliance, we have created a dedicated partner aimed at guiding and supporting companies in gradually achieving PPWR compliance," said Jan Bauer, Managing Director of Packliance GmbH.

One-stop consulting and implementation services

Packliance conducts comprehensive assessments at the beginning of each collaboration and develops gap analysis and risk analysis reports related to PPWR requirements. Its consulting services leverage digital tools, focusing on all-material industrial and commercial packaging sectors. The service portfolio covers four core areas:

Evaluation Services: Role and Duty Definition, Gap Analysis, and Seminar

Compliance process support: technical document preparation, data platform management, and communication coordination with regulatory agencies.

EU-wide EPR compliance support: consulting services, member state system registration, and production reporting.

Authorized Representative Services: Aimed at Manufacturers and Producers within the EU

Proactive Layout in a Dynamic Regulatory Environment

In the coming years, PPWR will be further refined through multiple enabling legislations and implementation guidelines. Packliance will provide continuous support to clients, keeping them updated with regulatory changes in areas such as labeling requirements, recycled content ratios, reuse targets, recyclable design guidelines, and verification processes. "PPWR will fundamentally reshape the packaging industry landscape in the coming years," said Maria Hentze, Business Director of Packliance GmbH. "We help companies prepare in advance for these new requirements, building business processes that are both compliant with PPWR standards and efficient."
