Total recycling of renewable resources reaches 1.39 trillion yuan! china’s industrial circular utilization system injects green momentum into high-quality development

Since the beginning of this year, China has achieved breakthroughs on multiple fronts in the recycling and utilization of industrial resources, with a resource recycling system covering all sectors taking shape at an accelerated pace, injecting green momentum into high-quality development.
Not long ago, the country's first complete resource recycling system for rail transit was established in Tianjin. At the site, a decommissioned subway train that had been in service for over twenty years was undergoing standardized dismantling operations. Staff members told reporters that the comprehensive recycling rate of steel and aluminum alloys in the train exceeded 98%, and the purity of recycled copper reached 99%.
Since the beginning of this year, as the national large-scale industrial equipment renewal campaign has advanced in depth, a large number of outdated and obsolete pieces of equipment have been accelerated out of the market. In Inner Mongolia, retired wind turbine blades can be processed into high-strength composite panels, with a single production line capable of consuming up to 10,000 tonnes of retired blades annually. In Xuzhou, Jiangsu, a national-level remanufacturing base for construction machinery can carry out precision repairs and performance upgrades on core components such as engines and hydraulic pumps from used excavators and loaders, reducing production costs by more than 50%.
Data show that in 2025, China’s total volume of recycled resources reached 417 million tonnes, with a total recovery value of 1.39 trillion yuan. Among them, the output of recycled nonferrous metals exceeded 20 million tonnes, providing a stable resource supply for industrial production. Going forward, China will continue to accelerate the development of an industrial resource recycling and utilization system covering all sectors, including rail transit, new energy equipment, and construction machinery, so as to support the green and low-carbon transition and ensure resource security.
