Trump also said that Xi Jinping invited him to visit Beijing in April, and Trump accepted the invitation. White House Press Secretary Levitt told reporters that the call lasted for an hour. Levitt stated, "The conversation mainly focused on the trade agreement we are negotiating with China, the relationship between the two countries, and how this relationship can move in a positive direction."

According to a report by Xinhua, Xi Jinping clarified China's principled position on the Taiwan issue during a call, emphasizing that Taiwan's return to China is an important part of the post-war international order. He stated that China and the United States once stood together against fascism and militarism, and that they should now work together to uphold the achievements of World War II.

Trump did not mention the Taiwan issue in his post.
