Westlake chemical completes acquisition of german pvc/vcm production facility

Westlake Chemical Group, headquartered in Houston, USA, announced that its German subsidiary, Westlake Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG, has completed the previously disclosed acquisition and officially taken over the integrated polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and vinyl chloride monomer (VCM) production facility located in Wilhelmshaven, Germany. The plant had previously been under bankruptcy administration and has an annual PVC production capacity of 380,000 tons.

Jean-Marc Gilson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Westlake Chemical, stated: “This acquisition expands the Group’s global chlorovinyls production footprint, strengthens its performance and essential materials business segments, and complements the Company’s existing chlorovinyls production sites in Europe and North America. Located on Germany’s North Sea coast in Lower Saxony, the Wilhelmshaven site enjoys excellent logistics infrastructure and features an on-site deep-water jetty, ensuring efficient delivery of raw materials.
