CAAM: Auto Imports Decline in Volume and Value in March 2026
On May 6, according to data compiled by the China Association of Automobile Industries from the General Administration of Customs, in March 2026, the import of whole vehicles reached 28,000 units, declining 12.6% month-on-month and 28.9% year-on-year; the import value was 1.17 billion U.S. dollars, down 20.7% month-on-month and 39.6% year-on-year. For the first three months of 2026, the import of whole vehicles totaled 97,000 units, increasing 2.6% year-on-year; the import value was 4.44 billion U.S. dollars, decreasing 10.4% year-on-year.
