Based on the East China region, the spot price of PET bottle-grade chips today is 9075 RMB/ton, down 145 RMB/ton from the previous trading day.

The easing of the US-Iran situation and the Strait issue has led to a continued decline in crude oil and raw materials, with the polyester bottle chip market also falling. This morning, the mainstream supply in the East China market was around 9000-9300, with a basis of 2606 plus 500; some supplies were slightly lower, at 8780-9000. In the afternoon, nearing the close, the mainstream supply spot offers were around 9000-9100; transactions were heard at 8920, 9000, 9040, 9085, 9100, 9110, 9200, and 9300, with significant price differences between brands. Lower-priced supplies were traded at 8850-8950, and trading was slightly better than yesterday. A major terminal factory issued a tender (unit: RMB/ton).

3. Production Dynamics

Today, the capacity utilization rate of polyester bottle chips reached 71.44%. In terms of profit, the price of raw material PTA rose to 6955, and the price of MEG rose to 5280, with the polymerization cost increasing by 60.22 to 7743.15, and the profit of polyester bottle chips is 1096.85 RMB/ton.

5. Price Forecasting

Petrochemical products saw a broad decline, with the war-related premium continuing to erode. In the short term, no new supply is expected, and the tight spot market conditions persist. The PET bottle-grade chip market is expected to remain range-bound with a weak bias. The spot price for water-bottle-grade material in the East China market is forecasted at RMB 8,850–9,000 per ton tomorrow. Monitor crude oil prices and downstream restocking activities.
