Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Co., Ltd. is a limited liability company established with capital contributions from Sinopec Corporation (Sinopec), Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd. (Shanghai Petrochemical), and Sinopec Gaoqiao Petrochemical Company Limited. Its predecessor was a sino-foreign joint venture limited liability company formed by Sinopec, Shanghai Petrochemical, and BP Huadong Investment Co., Ltd., with a total investment exceeding 3 billion US dollars. SECCO possesses large-scale chemical facilities with an annual design capacity of 1.09 million tons of ethylene cracking, 650,000 tons of styrene, 600,000 tons of aromatics extraction, 520,000 tons of acrylonitrile, 180,000 tons of butadiene extraction, 600,000 tons of polyethylene, 300,000 tons of polystyrene, and 250,000 tons of polypropylene. SECCO employs advanced global process technologies to produce ethylene, propylene, polyethylene, polypropylene, styrene, polystyrene, acrylonitrile, butadiene, benzene, toluene, and other by-products. Annually, it supplies more than 3.2 million tons of high-quality, multi-specification petrochemical products that are in short supply domestically.
