Main Products and Description

Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) is an aromatic crystalline thermoplastic polymer with a melting point of 343 °C, exhibiting properties comparable to polyimide (PI), and is known as a super heat-resistant thermoplastic resin. Its main properties are as follows:

High Temperature Performance: The glass transition temperature of PEEK polymers and compounds is typically 143°C, and the melting point is 340°C. Tests show that although the heat distortion temperature of unreinforced pure resin is only 160°C (HDT/B), with the addition of glass fibers or carbon fibers, the heat distortion temperature can reach 315°C, and the continuous use temperature can reach 260°C.

Wear Resistance: PEEK provides excellent wear resistance under various pressures, temperatures, speeds, and rough contact surface conditions, comparable to polyimide materials.

Chemical Resistance: Even at high temperatures, PEEK polymers can resist most chemical environments effectively.

Flammability, Smoke, and Toxic Gas Emission Levels: PEEK polymers are very stable and can meet UL94 V-0 flammability requirements without the addition of any flame retardants at a thickness of 1.45mm. The composition and inherent purity of this material result in minimal smoke and toxic gas production in fire environments.

Hydrolysis Resistance: PEEK polymers and compounds can withstand chemical degradation caused by water or high-pressure steam. Components made from these materials can continuously operate in water environments at high temperatures and pressures while maintaining good mechanical properties. PEEK has a very low water absorption rate and can be used in pressurized hot water or steam at 300°C.

Fatigue Resistance: Polyetheretherketone resin is a plastic that balances toughness and rigidity. Its excellent fatigue resistance to alternating stresses is outstanding among all plastics and is comparable to alloy materials.

Self-lubricating: Polyetheretherketone resin has outstanding sliding properties among all plastics, suitable for applications requiring low friction coefficients and wear resistance. Particularly, modified sliding grades mixed with 10% carbon fiber, graphite, or polytetrafluoroethylene, or 30% CF reinforced grades all exhibit excellent sliding characteristics.

Electrical Properties and Radiation Resistance: PEEK exhibits superior electrical properties, remaining stable over a wide temperature and frequency range, with a very low dielectric loss even at high frequencies, such as 1010 Hz, still being 0.0033 . The volume resistivity at room temperature is 1016 Ω·cm, and the breakdown voltage is 17kV/mm. It has strong resistance to γ-radiation, exceeding the radiation resistance of general resins like polyethylene, capable of maintaining good insulation performance at γ-radiation doses up to 1100Mrad.

Peel Resistance: PEEK resin has good peel resistance, allowing for the production of very thin coated wires or electromagnetic wires that can be used under harsh conditions.
