Coveris and Sabic Join Forces to Create New Model for Medical Plastics Circular Economy
Coveris and SABIC recently launched a collaborative project that successfully demonstrated the feasibility of a closed-loop recycling system for medical packaging. The project integrated the expertise of healthcare service providers, material manufacturers, and packaging manufacturers, proving that uncontaminated hospital plastic waste can be transformed into new, sensitive medical packaging. This project is dedicated to establishing a full-process circular system: medical packaging waste is uniformly collected and chemically recycled, then reintroduced into the medical industry supply chain, marking a significant step toward sustainable development in this highly regulated sector.
